We are delighted to announce that the Stonyhurst Classic Car & Motorcycle Show, which replaces the previous Classic Shows’s event at Houghton Tower, will be returning for its second year in 2019.

Exciting new content has been confirmed including a craft marquee featuring 40+ stalls, modern vehicle dealerships and children’s entertainment.

Join us at this superb 16th century venue for a day of motoring heritage and nostalgia suitable for all of the family.

Visitor admission tickets can be purchased through the online ticketing facility up until 3pm on Friday 9 August 2019. Tickets are sent via email.

OPENING TIMES

10am-4pm

VEHICLE DISPLAYS

There will be a variety of private vehicles displayed by age (pre-60s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s-04) and category (sports and convertibles, kit, custom and replica and American) plus a wide range of club stands including Nutcrackers, Lancashire Capri Club, West Lancs MG Owners Club, Stag Owners Club, Fords & Friends, Moper Muppets, MR2 Drivers Club and Jaguar Red Rose Region.

In the classic bike section, up to 100 vintage and classic motorcycles will be on display including the likes of BSA, Norton and Velocette.

CONCOURS

There will be a full vehicle concours overseen by Drystone radio presenter and local personality Mark Stone.

All exhibiting vehicles will be included with the vehicle concours and judging process. Mark Stone has worked with Classic Shows for several years and provides a friendly, funny and interactive commentary service to engage visitors throughout the event. Mark will coordinate the concours and will be assisted by experienced judges with awards presented for a range of categories and culminating in the Car of the Show and Pride of Ownership categories.

Each participating vehicle exhibitor will also receive a complementary commemorative plaque.

TRADE, AUTOJUMBLE AND RETAIL

There will be retail village featuring 40-50 trade and autojumble stalls selling a range of hard-to-find parts, merchandise, memorabilia, craft and vintage items.

MODERN VEHICLE DEALERSHIPS

New for 2019, the event will feature a selection of modern vehicle dealership and manufacturer exhibitors. Visitors can learn more about the latest models, technology and finance products from knowledgeable staff who will be on hand to answer queries.

FOOD AND DRINK, TOILETS

Mobile food and drink facilities are available at the event selling breakfast rolls, burgers, hot dogs and hot and cold drinks.

Portable and permanent male, female and disabled toilet facilities are available.

THE GROUNDS AND VISITOR INFORMATION

The event is located at Stonyhurst College, a Grade II listed independent co-educational boarding school founded in 1593. Famous former pupils include author of Lord of the Rings JR Tolkien and author of Sherlock Holmes, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

Stonyhurst is the oldest Jesuit school in the world and visitors to the event are able to access a tour of the College and explore various chapels and historic rooms dating back to the 16th century.

OTHER INFORMATION – DOGS, CAR PARKING ETC

We are a very dog friendly organisation and dogs are allowed at the event. We kindly ask that visitors keep their dogs on leads at all times and use the on-site dustbins to dispose of any dog waste.

Ample car parking is available on the rugby fields opposite the entrance to Stonyhurst. Visitors will be directed to park upon arrival and visitor parking is free for all events run by Classic Shows at Stonyhurst College.

From the North
Leave the M6 at junction 32 onto the A6. Turn right and follow the signs for Broughton. At the crossroads turn right on to the B5269 to Longridge and the B6243 to Hurst Green.

From the South
Leave the M6 at junction 31 and initially follow signs to Blackburn and Clitheroe on the A59. Then follow the Clitheroe and Whalley signs until the major roundabout, at which take the turn off for Whalley. At Whalley take the B6246 to Great Mitton and finally, the B6243 to Hurst Green.

From the M62
Leave at junction 18, and follow the M66, A56 and A6068 to Padiham, then turn left onto the A671 for Whalley, then the B6246 to Great Mitton and the B6243 to Hurst Green.

We offer a heavily discounted admission ticket for car exhibitors who book in advance of the event. For a cost of just £4.50, the car exhibitor ticket allows entry for:

– one classic car (aged 2004 / pre-2004) or a car in one of the following themes: American / kit / custom / replica car
– up to two adults and two children (aged up to 14).

Any additional passengers will be charged at the full admission price.

To protect the integrity of the event, we aim to control the number of exhibiting vehicles which are newer that 2004. If you have a vehicle you would like to exhibit which is newer than 2004, we may still be able to issue an exhibitor ticket for just £4.50 but this is at the organisers discretion. In these circumstances please make your booking by phoning the office on 01484 667776 or emailing info@classicshows.org to avoid any unnecessary delays.

Passes are issued subject to exhibitors arriving at the event by 11.00am.

To take up this offer exhibitors must confirm their booking no later than 5pm on Friday 2 August 2019.

MOTORCYCLE SEASON PASS

We offer a free motorcycle season pass. Produce your season ticket at the gate on arrival and pay an admission fee of just £3 per person (maximum two per bike) when displaying a classic (2004 / pre-2004) motorcycle in the show – a substantial saving on the standard admission price.

WHY TRADE WITH CLASSIC SHOWS?

Classic Shows events offer an ideal opportunity to sell, or promote to, a large number of classic car and motorcycle enthusiasts including vehicle owners (exhibitors) and members of the general public (visitors). Common items for sale include hard-to-find parts, merchandise, memorabilia, manuals / books, signs, number plates, polishes and detailing items, vintage items and Americana.

In addition, the events also attract considerable family and day visitors providing further opportunities including craft items, gifts, photographs and posters, clothing and confectionery (fudge, cakes etc).

As Classic Shows events are located at some of the UK’s most prestigious country homes and venues, the events attract a strong ABC1 / professional / high disposable income demographic which in turn presents the perfect opportunity to achieve event profile or sales from a qualified audience.

TRADING PITCHES

Pitches are 6x6m (or multiples thereof), outdoors and are located on grass unless stated otherwise. Pitches are allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.

We have plenty of outdoor pitches, so don’t expect to run out, but if you would like a particular pitch it’s best to arrive early as we do not reserve outside pitches in advance (other than for Premium Trade – see below).

PREMIUM TRADE

Want to stand out from the crowd? Want to really push your sales? Then why not speak to the office about the exclusive premium trading opportunities offered at Classic Shows events?

At all events we have identified those trading locations which offer the highest footfall and / or greatest trading profile, for example those locations adjacent to the judging arena, catering village or on the end of a trade row. These locations are ideal for traders wishing to maximise the trading opportunity by promoting a new product launch, product placements or special offers.

Premium trade pitches start from 6m*6m and multiple spaces are also available. Spaces are allocated and reserved in advance. A site map is available for each event identifying the premium trading locations – see the Booking Form section of the website for further details.

COST PER PITCH

Trade and Autojumble prices are unchanged from 2016, 2017 and 2018.

Autojumble is classed as any item which can be screwed, welded, bolted or otherwise affixed to a classic car or bike, plus repair manuals and parts lists. All other items are classified as trade (such as tools and accessories, books and literature, brochures, toys and models).
