New North Wales Classic Car & Motorcycle Show announced for 2019, 3-year contract agreed and two events per year going forward
Bodrhyddan Hall, Rhuddlan, LL18 5SB
Following on from what proved to be a wet and windy first ever classic vehicle event at Bodrhyddan Hall & Gardens, Rhuddlan on 28 July, leading classic vehicle events organiser Classic Shows are delighted to announce the launch of a rescheduled event on Sunday 22 September 2019 and furthermore, that an agreement has also been reached to run a further two events in each of 2020, 2021 and 2022.
This popular and family friendly event has been running for almost 10 years having been relocated from Bodelwyddan Castle, nr. Rhyl where it was known as ‘Classics at the Castle’. Whilst in excess of 700 vintage, classic and modern classic vehicles had pre-booked to exhibit at the event, a terrible forecast which followed through into heavy rain for most of the day meant that whilst over 250 exhibitors still braced the conditions, the event did not live up to expectations and was delivered on a much reduced scale than expected.
Frustrated yet not deterred, Classic Shows took about immediately investigating the ability to rearrange the event for the rescheduled date of SUNDAY 22 SEPTMEBER 2019 and are delighted to announce that this is now confirmed. Classic Shows has also taken on board feedback from exhibitors and has agreed to move the event to the fields in front of Bodrhyddan Hall thereby providing for an easier admission and exit route, a flatter event field, shorter grass and a guarantee of no horse manure!
Not finished there, Classic Shows has also entered into a 3-year agreement to deliver the event in July 2020, 2021 and 2022 and furthermore, add a second event in each of these years to be held in September (exact dates from 2020 onwards tbc).
Enthusiasts, families and day trippers can rest safe in the knowledge that this popular event will continue for years to come and will feature a wide range of content including 700+ exhibiting vehicles, full vehicle judging and awards overseen by leading commentator and radio presenter Mark Stone. Awards will be presented for a range of categories and culminating in the Pride of Ownership, Club of the Show and Car of the Show awards. Each participating vehicle exhibitor will also receive a complimentary commemorative plaque. Add to this classic motorcycles, trade and autojumble stalls, children’s entertainment, modern car dealership stands, quality food, drink, ice cream and responsible bars – what’s not to like?
Offering a spectacular day of motoring heritage, vehicles will be displayed on the basis of age (pre-60s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90 – 04) and type (sports and convertibles, kit, custom and replica, American and electric vehicles) and expect to see a variety of private entry and club stands with the likes of Jaguar Enthusuasts Club, Mercedes Benz Owners Club, Merseyside MG OC, BMW Car Club, North Wales Classic Car Club, Cheshire Classic Car Club, NW Kit Car Owners Club and many more.
Matthew J Harvey, Managing Director at Classic Shows commented “We were disappointed to experience such horrific weather in July and were determined not to be beaten. We spoke to Tom at Bodrhyddan Hall and quickly agreed to go again on 22 September and at the same time, also secure the event for a further 3 years at what we believe to be an outstanding new home. We announce the new event by also offering free exhibitor tickets to all vehicle owners who booked into the July event and indeed any exhibitors who book by Friday 13 September 2019. Finally, we have also agreed to add the September date as a permanent addition going forward thereby running what we believe will be two, cracking classic vehicles events in North Wales in July and September for at least each of the next 3 years. A special thanks to Tom and team at Bodrhyddan who have been very supportive and we look forward to working together for many years to come”.
Tom Rowley-Conwy, Events Manager at Bodryhddan Hall commented “We are delighted to be working with Classic Shows for the next three years. We believe that the classic car show fits perfectly into our growing roster of events as we continue to engage with the local community. We look forward to welcoming exhibitors, enthusiasts and visitors to Bodrhyddan Hall for the next few years of events.”
