Last year we were unfortunate to hold this event on the wettest Sunday of a pretty wet summer. It was therefore hard to gauge if this event will be a success in the long term. We were however sufficiently encouraged with the turnout of Minis and mini traders to have another attempt in 2010. The Mini event sits alongside Sportscar Sunday with free movement between the two events. This provides an excellent value day out for all the family with over 500 classic Sportscars and Minis on site plus around 40 trade and autojumble stands on site. The venue is easy to find being just a short drive south of Manchester on the A34 near Alderley Edge.
This is now our 25th year and we have organised over 750 events, we are hugely encouraged by the response for this new West Yorkshire Show and have over 150 cars booked in. We hope this show will mark the start of an annual return to this fantastic venue in Wakefield.
Why not take this opportunity to have a mini break in the picturesque Malvern Hills and take in a classic car show at the same time. The facilities at the Three Counties showground are second to none with electric hook up and permanent showers and toilets. There is a lot to see and do in the area on Friday afternoon and Saturday plus a 200 + classic car show in a different part of the site on Sunday. Wind down after the show on Sunday and leave on Monday morning. Entry to the show is included in the price if you have a classic car or not.
We are delighted to be returning to the Three Counties Showground this summer for an all outside classic car event. Unlike our spring and autumn events there is no inside element in August with the whole show being held just inside the main gate of the showground. Uptake from vehicle owners, clubs and traders has been excellent and we are expecting a busy show. We are particularly looking forward to seeing the 40 plus cars from Capri Power and have invited other Ford Clubs to make a Ford theme to this general classic car event. There will however be a full range of classic cars on show from the 1920’s to the1990’s.
This event is now in it’s 5th year and if you wish to know which weekend of the summer to expect extreme weather it is this one! Two years ago saw the hottest day of 2008 and a record turn out of vehicles and public. Last year saw the wettest day of the summer, which truthfully has been the norm for this event, and a record low turn out. This year it would be nice to have a quiet summers day because this event attracts a super calibre of vehicles and a decent trade turn out too. Last year we added a Mini show to the day and we think that this will go on to be a major success but it was hard to tell in the deluge.
Keep your fingers crossed for a decent day in 2010.
