New for 2018, we are delighted to announce the Father’s Day Classic Car & Motor Show at Castle Howard.

The event takes place on 17 June 2018 and features a display of vintage, classic, modern classic and electric cars and motorcycles. A number of modern and electric vehicle manufacturers will be represented, and the event also includes a full vehicle concours overseen by Richard & Christine Lee.

Set within the stunning grounds of Castle Howard, the Father’s Day Classic Car & Motor Show offers a spectacular day of motoring heritage ideal for enthusiasts, day trippers and families.

Please note that if attending the event using a vehicle exhibitor pass, this provides entry for up to 2 adults and 2 children travelling in the pre-booked vehicle. Any further adults or children visitors will be charged at the on-the-day admission rate.

Visitors may use a motorcycle season pass to benefit from reduced admission of just £3 per person if exhibiting a motorcycle (maximum 2 persons per pass traveling on the motorcycle). Motorcycle season passes are available to order from the Classic Shows website or by completing and returning a Motorcycle Booking Form (available from the Booking F0rms section of the Classic Shows website).

VEHICLE DISPLAYS

This event is a classic car and motorcycle show which also includes modern content with formal exhibitor stands from a number of major vehicle manufacturers and car dealerships.

We expect to attract upwards of 750 vintage, classic and modern classic vehicles from a range of private owners and organised vehicle clubs. Vehicles will be displayed on the basis of age (pre-60s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s-03) and category (Sports and Convertibles, Kit, Custom and Replica and American). Additional themes will be accommodated if there is demand.

There will also be a selection of classic motorcycles and electric vehicles on display.

CONCOURS

There will be a full vehicle concours overseen by Richard & Christine Lee who are well known across the northern classic vehicle scene.

Richard and Christine are also International Concours Judges and Official Valuers for the Mercedes Benz Club UK and will award prizes to exhibitors participating in the concours, culminating in the Pride of Ownership, Club of the Show and Car of the Show awards.

Each participating vehicle exhibitor will also receive a complementary commemorative plaque.

TRADE, AUTOJUMBLE AND RETAIL

The event will also feature trade/autojumble stalls selling a range of hard-to-find parts, accessories, merchandise, tools, manuals, paints, signs, vintage items and clothing.

There will also be premium trading opportunities at the event which comprise of the most high profile / largest footfall locations on the show field. Call the office for further details.

There will be a Children’s Entertainment Zone featuring a series of rides, bouncy castles and activities for children of all ages. There is also a full children’s adventure playground.

FOOD AND DRINK, TOILETS

Mobile food and drink facilities are available at the event selling quality food and drink. There will also be responsible bars and ice cream vendors.

Portable and permanent male, female and disabled toilet facilities are available.

THE GROUNDS AND VISITOR INFORMATION

Castle Howard is one of only ten ‘Treasure Houses of England’, a group of the finest houses, palaces and castles in England.

Castle Howard is a magnificent, 18th century historic house in the north of England set within 1,000 acres of breathtaking landscape just outside York.

The Yorkshire stately home boasts world-renowned works of art and stunning architecture having been designed by Sir John Vanbrugh and built with the assistance of Nicholas Hawksmoor.

The grounds include lakes, fountains, temples and woodland as well as formal walled garden and children’s adventure playground making Castle Howard the perfect family day out, plus enjoy a changing programme of events, children’s trails and a range of cafés and shops including farm shop and garden centre.

Visitors to the Father’s Day Classic Car & Motor Show also benefit from full access to the Castle Howard grounds, gardens and parkland without extra charge (note an extra fee applies for access inside Castle Howard).

OTHER INFORMATION – DOGS, CAR PARKING ETC

We are a very dog friendly organisation and dogs are allowed at the event. We kindly ask that visitors keep their dogs on leads at all times and use the on-site dustbins to dispose of any dog waste.

Ample car parking is available and is provided free of charge. Upon arrival at Castle Howard visitors will be directed to park before leaving their vehicles and entering the event.

Castle Howard, York YO60 7DA

Castle Howard is just 15 miles north east of York and easily accessible from the A64 which connects Leeds, York and the Yorkshire Coast.

By car:

From the North: From the A1 take the A61 to Thirsk then the A170 to Helmsley. Before Helmsley turn right onto the B1257 and follow the brown signs. Please be aware this route includes Sutton Bank which is unsuitable for caravans. If you are towing, please continue down the A19 and follow the signs for the alternative route.

From the South: Take the A1M to Junction 44 and follow the A64 east to York. Continue past York and eventually you will pick up the brown signs for Castle Howard.

Alternative routes (for coaches and wide vehicles to avoid narrow gateways measuring 2.6m x 3.43m (8’ 6” wide x 11’ 3” high):

A64 Eastbound: Go past the brown Castle Howard sign and continue into Malton. As you approach the town centre, just before the Talbot Hotel, take a sharp left into Castle Howard Road, signed Castle Howard and Coneysthorpe.

A64 Westbound: Exit the A64 at the Malton/Pickering roundabout. Take the left turn into Malton/Old Malton (ignore the brown sign directing you back onto the A64), and continue into the town centre. At the traffic lights go straight over, and after the Talbot Hotel turn right into Castle Howard Road, signed Castle Howard and Coneysthorpe.

You can also take the scenic route, avoiding the A64 and taking in North Yorkshire countryside and villages, or get to Castle Howard via public transport.

DISCOUNTED ADVANCE BOOKING

Classic Shows offers a heavily discounted admission ticket for car exhibitors who book in advance of the event. There is no charge for the first 100 exhibitors that pre-book and then there is a cost of just £4.50 per vehicle thereafter, the car exhibitor ticket allows entry for:
one classic car (aged 2003 / pre-2003) or a car in one of the following themes: American / kit / custom / replica car / sports

two adults and two children (aged up to 14).

If you are unsure whether your vehicle qualifies to exhibit, please contact the office. Any additional passengers will be charged at the full admission price.

Exhibitor passes are issued subject to exhibitors arriving at the event by 11.00am. If the exhibiting vehicle contains more than 2 adults and 2 children, any additional visitors will be charged at the standard on-the-day admission price.

To take up this offer exhibitors must confirm their booking no later than Friday 8 June 2018. Note that discounted exhibitor admission tickets are not available to purchase on the day of the event.

MOTORCYCLE SEASON PASS

We offer a free motorcycle season pass. Produce your season ticket at the gate on arrival and pay an admission fee of just £3 per person (maximum two per bike) when displaying a classic (2003 and pre-2003) motorcycle in the show – a substantial saving on the standard admission price.

Motorcycle exhibitors can retain the motorcycle season pass and use the pass throughout the 2018 season at most Classic Shows events (excludes the Manchester Bike Show at EventCity).

To guarantee receiving your motorcycle season pass in time for this event, orders should arrive to us no later than Friday 8 June 2018.

PITCHES

Trade and autojumble pitches are a very popular feature of Classic Shows events and are available in sizes measuring 6x6m (or multiples thereof). Trade pitches are located outdoors on grass unless otherwise stated.

We have plenty of outdoor pitches but as pitches are allocated on a first-come-first-served basis (with the exception of Premium Trade pitches), it is recommended that traders arrive early to improve the chance of securing an attractive space.

Trade pitches can be booked in advance to secure a discount to the price or can be purchased on-the-day of the event at the on-the-day trade price.

PREMIUM TRADE PITCHES

For the first time in 2018, Classic Shows now offers the opportunity to secure Premium on-site trading pitches ahead of the event.

Premium pitches are the highest profile / largest footfall locations at the event and allow your trade stall to benefit from a much-improved presence. A great way to launch a new product or try and push sales to the next level. Space requirements can be agreed as required and all premium stands must be booked and paid for ahead of the event.

Autojumble is classed as any item which can be screwed, welded, bolted or otherwise affixed to a classic car or bike, plus repair manuals and parts lists. All other items are classified as trade (such as tools and accessories, books and literature, brochures, toys and models).
