January 2012 - Press Release

THE LONDON INTERNATIONAL CLASSIC AND CUSTOM SHOW - ALEXANDRA PALACE, LONDON 25TH & 26TH FEBRUARY 2012

Christmas is over; the New Year is upon us and the traditional date of the last weekend in February is looming large in the diary of the serious bike and car enthusiast. The London International Classic and Custom Show at Alexandra Palace, North London is back for the third year and in 2012 will be bigger than ever. Described by our sponsors BSH as the number one custom show in the UK we are proud to announce that the scope of the event will be further extended to include the classic bike and custom & hot rod fraternities. Given that there has always been some degree of crossover between the custom and classic worlds these three areas of enthusiasm should rub along together quite nicely.

So how do you get involved? In lots of different ways!

By entering your custom bike or custom bike club:
Once again LICCS enjoys affiliation to the AMD World championship of Custom Bike Building which means that the machine adjudged overall best in show will win its builder the not insignificant prize of a trip to Sturgis, South Dakota next August, where he or she will be able to enter their pride and joy into the AMD World Championship. In 2010 the winner of the Modified Harley class at Ally Pally was adjudged to be the best in its class at Sturgis and the winner of the freestyle class at Ally Pally gained third prize over all. Last year, of course, we went one better when Larry Houghton's masterpiece of inventive engineering "Son of a Gun" finished second in the world only to be pipped at the post by a custom bike from Japan. In 2012 we are looking for the winner from Ally Pally to be crowned world champion in Sturgis and that is where you come in. We would love to see your bike at Ally Pally whether in the Freestyle, Modified Harley, BSH invitational or Streetfighters class. There is no charge for entry for clubs or individuals, the club stands will accommodate 6-8 bikes, simply click here to download a booking form.

By entering a custom car, hot rod or custom car club:
Following discussions with the A602ers and the NSRA we have decided to open up a custom and hot rod section in the Great Hall. To date there are around 25 vehicles booked in for display and have room for double if not triple that number plus associated traders. Cars can be entered individually or as a club, the club stands being able to accommodate two or three cars and as with the bikes there is no charge for entry in this section, simply give us a call on 01484 667776 to book in your custom or hot rod.

By entering your classic bike or classic bike club:
Classic shows have been organising events in the classic vehicle market since 1985 and have organised over 700 shows in that time. For many years it has been our wish to bring a classic bike show to the capital and Ally Pally provides the perfect opportunity to make this wish come true. We already have a mouth watering array of classics booked in for display from 1930's machines to the modern Japanese classics of the 1990's plus several owners clubs including Vincent OC, AJS & Matchless and many more. However we do have space for lots more whether with 6-8 bikes on club stands or entered individually, there is no charge for either, simply click here to download a booking form.

By taking a trade or small business stand:
If you run a company, small or large, associated with the custom or classic market Ally Pally is the place to be seen and the place to do business. We have a variety of stands sizes with prices to suit all pockets so make sure you don't miss out and join the dozens of traders who will be with us at Ally Pally. For information regarding exhibiting at Ally Pally simply click here to download the booking form or call us on 01484 667776.

By buying a discounted ticket in advance and visiting us on the day:
If you are planning to visit rather than participate you will find plenty going on throughout the weekend to keep you entertained. In addition of the custom and classic bike show, concours competition, club stands and associated trade stands, there will also be a full stage set up with live music and entertainment for the duration, which should keep things rolling along nicely.
The London International Classic and Custom Show takes place at Alexandra Palace, Wood Green, London, N22 7AY over the weekend of Saturday 25th & Sunday 26th February 2012. Gates open between 10am and 5pm each day with last entry at 4pm. Pre booked adult tickets cost £12 in advance (£15 on the door) over 60's £10 (£12 on the door) under 14's £5 and family tickets for 2 adults and 3 kids are £30 (£36 on the door). There are 3,000 free car parking spaces at Ally Pally. Advance discounted tickets can be purchased by phone on 01749 813899 (a non premium rate number) with no booking fee, or click here to book your tickets online.

P.S. If like us you live in the frozen north and London is further than you go for your holidays then how about The Manchester Bike Show at EventCity on 17th & 18th March 2012. The venue is 5 minutes drive from J9 & J10 of the M60 right next to the Trafford Centre with almost unlimited free parking. The show will expand into three halls. One for the new bike dealers plus the leather and helmet brigade and two halls for a classic and custom show along the lines of Ally Pally. Response to this new event has been astonishing with over 50% of the available space already allocated. To book in a custom or classic bike, book a club stand, enquire about a trade stand or book an advance ticket at a discounted rate click here.
