Public FAQs

Yes, there are a variety of catering units at the events from which you can buy food and drinks.

Yes – All events are accessible to wheelchair users.

Visitors should note that many events are based in the grounds of country homes and are therefore located on grass rather than hardstanding, This should not however prevent wheelchair use.

All classic car shows feature a full concours (vehicle judging and award ceremony) which is overseen by an experienced commentator and judges.  This provides a focal point throughout the event and many visitors will locate around the arena and watch as owners are interviewed and the vehicles are judged.

There is also a range of trade and autojumble retail opportunities where visitors can buy hard-to-find car parts, accessories, merchandise, books and manuals plus a range of non-vehicles related items including vintage items, signs and memorabilia.

Events may feature further entertainment, please refer to the event’s full listing on the website via the ‘Events’ option on the top navigation bar.

No, parking is free at all Classic Shows events.

Yes, we ensure that there is always disabled parking provided. Please advise on arrival if you require disabled parking and our gate and car parking staff will ensure you are directed to the disabled parking area.

Dogs are allowed at all of the Classic Shows events with the following exceptions:

Bodelwyddan Castle: Please note the general public may not bring their dogs into Bodelwyddan Castle. Traders and exhibitors can bring their dog, but dogs must be kept on a lead less than 1.5m long, must not be exercised on the event field within the event’s opening hours, and cannot be taken on the grounds beyond the event field.

Bowood House: Classic Shows is a very dog friendly organisation however at events held at Bowood House dogs are not allowed. This applies to the general public, exhibitors and traders.

Exhibitor FAQs

Exhibitors are welcome to advertise their vehicle for sale at our shows for a small additional fee.

Out of courtesy we ask that upon arrival at the event you please inform the gate staff that you will be advertising your vehicle for sale. The gate staff will ask you to purchase an extra adult admission ticket which covers the cost of advertising your vehicle for sale.

Classic Shows operates events from some of the leading and most prestigious country homes in the UK including Blenheim Palace, Castle Howard, Capesthorne Hall, Bodelwyddan Castle and Cholmondeley Castle. Such venues come at considerable cost and there is also a small team working behind the scenes to ensure the smooth running of all events. Although we do not believe that exhibitors should pay the same as the general public (which is why we offer a discounted advance rate of £5.00 admitting two adults travelling in the exhibiting vehicle),in order to be able to work at such stunning locations, a small admin fee is necessary.

Tickets ordered online will be sent via confirmation email within 20 minutes of your order, contact us to re-send your confirmation email if you still haven't recieved it.

At indoor events  all vehicles will be judged in the concours, you do not need to do anything, our judges will walk around the venue to judge all vehicles on display.

At outdoor events, if you would like to take part in the concours, listen out for an announcement for your vehicle’s section. You will then need to drive your vehicle into the concours arena for judging.

Yes. All vehicles on site must have valid insurance covering them for theft and damage – the organiser will not accept responsibility for loss or damage to any vehicle however caused.

For most of our shows, the answer is yes. Simply turn up on the day, pay the full admission price per person, then you are able to display your vehicle in the show and take part in the concours if you so wish. There are however a few exceptions were space at a venue is limited: Cholmondeley Castle and Clumber Park.

At Cholmondeley Castle there is space for 1000 classic cars, and due to the popularity of this event all 1000 spaces are usually allocated before the booking deadline. Additional club members are still welcome to turn up on the day in their classic vehicle, however they will not be able to join you in the showground on your club stand, instead they will be directed to our classic car overflow area. This is a separate area, away from the public car park, and is purely for classic vehicles, it’s a great place to be on display, however it does mean they will be parked in a separate area to the club, and they will also not be able to take part in concours.

At Clumber Park, once all space has been allocated in the show field, arriving vehicles will be directed to the public car park.

Set-up is from 7am on the day at all of our events and you are welcome to arrive with your vehicle from this time, however the Motor Show at Harewood House has a slightly earlier set-up time, which starts from 6am.

Camping for exhibitors is available only at two day events at Blenheim Palace and Thoresby Park. The cost is £10 per tent/caravan/motorhome per night. Camping isn’t allowed on the night of the second day of the event. Facilities are very limited, so we recommend that you are self-contained (ie. You have access to your own toilet, showers etc). Please reference the classic vehicle booking form in order to book camping.

Please call the office on 01484 667776.

If the car you’re now bringing is in the same section of the show (A: pre 1950s, B: 1950s-1960s… etc.),we can simply update the vehicle details on your booking and you can keep the same pass.

If your vehicle will be placed in a different section, we may ask you to send in your original pass, along with a stamped, self-addressed envelope, so we can send you a new pass.

For all of our shows (except Harewood House) you are free to leave in your vehicle whenever you wish, we just ask that you drive slowly and carefully and be considerate of our guests. If, however, you are displaying your vehicle in the Motor Show at Harewood House, your vehicle must remain static until 4.30pm, after which time you can leave.

If it’s before the booking deadline and we have not already reached any advance ticket cap which may apply to the event, then yes!

If booking after the advance deadline simply tell any additional club members to turn up on the day and pay the full admission price, these club members can then join you on your stand. There are however a few exceptions where space at a venue is limited: Cholmondeley Castle and Clumber Park.

Classic Shows offers a heavily discounted admission ticket for exhibitors which allows admission for up to 2 adults for just £5.00 in total (or free at some events). To avail of this offer exhibitors must book in advance of the event and book no later than the advance booking deadline highlighted on the vehicle booking form. This offer is heavily promoted on the Classic Shows website, promotional literature and booking forms.

If vehicle exhibitors opt not to take up this offer, they are still very welcome to exhibit the vehicle at any event (subject to capacity) but must pay the full on-the-day admission price per person.

Should you wish to display your vehicle, you MUST book in advance for The Motor Show at Harewood House as there will be no on-the-day exhibitor bookings.

However, for all other events exhibitors can attend on the day of the event, pay the on-the-day admission price and exhibit their vehicles subject to there being sufficient remaining capacity – notably this can be an issue at venues such as Cholmondeley Castle and Clumber Park.

Classic Shows offers a heavily discounted admission ticket for exhibitors booking in advance of the event.

Post-2003 vehicles are welcome to display in our shows, however not all vehicles are eligible to book into the show at the discounted price.  If your vehicle is ineligible for the discounted pass, in order to display your vehicle in the show, simply turn up on the day and pay the full admission price per person. Be sure to let our gate staff know that you’d like to display your vehicle in the show, that way they will direct you into the showground rather than the car park.

For cars newer than 2003, the ask is that vehicles must be interesting (eg. rare, unique, famous, high-profile). The organisers reserve final say in terms of any post-2003 cars.

Any classic vehicle (which we class as vehicles aged 2003 or pre-2003) are eligible. Newer models of cars that fall into the following categories are also eligible to book at the discounted rate: American / Kit / Custom / Replica / Sports vehicles. If the event has a particular theme, all cars of that variety are also welcome to book as well (eg. If a show says ‘including Cheshire Jaguar Day’ – all Jaguars, of any age, are welcome to book).

Please note also that some of the new events offers an exception to the pre-2003 rule and allow more modern vehicles to attend and display. For cars newer than 2003, the ask is that vehicles must be interesting (eg. rare, unique, famous, high-profile). The organisers reserve final say in terms of any post-2003 cars.

The above description provides the general rules on the age of displaying vehicles however please contact the office for further details.
