New for 2018, we are delighted to announce the second of two new classic vehicle shows at Bowood House in 2018; the Summer Bowood Classic Car & Motorcycle Show.

The event takes place on Sunday 12 August and offers a spectacular day of motoring heritage ideal for enthusiasts, day trippers and families.

Set upon the front lawns at Bowood House and located adjacent to the Bowood lake, the event will feature an exciting display of vintage, classic and modern classic vehicles supplied by a range of private owners and specialist vehicle clubs.

Exhibitors Please Note:

Please note that if attending the event using a vehicle exhibitor pass you must arrive by 11am. The pass provides entry for up to 2 adults and 2 children travelling in the pre-booked vehicle. Any further adults or children visitors will be charged at the on-the-day admission rate.

Visitors wishing to exhibit a pre-2003 motorcylcle in the show, may use a motorcycle season pass to benefit from reduced admission of just £3 per person  (maximum 2 persons per pass travelling on the motorcycle). See the ‘Exhibit Your Classic Bike’ section below for further details.

VEHICLE DISPLAYS

This event is a classic car and motorcycle show featuring a display of vintage, classic and modern classic cars and motorcycles all set upon the lawns in front of Bowood House and beside Bowood lake.

There will be a variety of private vehicles displayed by age (pre-60s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s-03) and category (sports and convertibles, kit, custom and replica and American) plus a wide range of club stands.

CONCOURS

There will be a full vehicle concours overseen by leading commentator and vehicle expert Les Clayton.

All exhibiting vehicles will be included with the vehicle concours and judging process. Les has worked with Classic Shows for over 20 years and provides a friendly and interactive commentary service to engage visitors throughout the event. Les will coordinate the concours and will be assisted by experienced judges with awards presented for a range of categories and culminating in the Pride of Ownership, Club of the Show and Car of the Show awards.

Each participating vehicle exhibitor will also receive a complementary commemorative plaque.

TRADE, AUTOJUMBLE AND RETAIL

The event will also feature trade/autojumble stalls selling a range of hard-to-find parts, accessories, merchandise, tools, manuals, paints, signs, vintage items and clothing.

There is a full children’s adventure playground and access to the playground is included with the general admission price.

FOOD AND DRINK, TOILETS

Mobile food and drink facilities are available at the event selling breakfast rolls, burgers, hot dogs and hot and cold drinks. There will also be a responsible bar and ice cream vendors.

Portable and permanent male, female and disabled toilet facilities are available.

THE GROUNDS AND VISITOR INFORMATION

The event is located at Bowood House, one of England’s finest Georgian Houses set in the heart of 100 acres of parkland. Bowood House features interiors designed by Robert Adam and grounds landscaped by the renowned Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown. Often referred to as one of Brown’s finest parklands, many of his trademark landscape features can be enjoyed throughout the Bowood grounds.

Visitors attending the Classic Car & Motorcycle Show benefit from full and unrestricted access to the entire Bowood grounds, parkland, gardens and also the Bowood House without extra charge.

Bowood House features a large children’s adventure playground which is suitable for children of all ages.

OTHER INFORMATION – DOGS, CAR PARKING ETC

We are a very dog friendly organisation however unfortunately dogs not are allowed at this event.

Ample car parking is available and is provided free of charge. Upon arrival at Bowood House visitors will be directed to park before leaving their vehicles and entering the event.

Bowood House and Gardens are located at Derry Hill, Calne, Wiltshire, SN11 0LZ. However for sat nav purposes, please use the postcode SN11 9NF.

The venue can be easily located from the following major routes:

M4 Motorway: Exit at j 17 (west) and j 16 (east)
A4 from Malborough
A342 from Andover
A350 via Warminster and Westbury

The venue is sign posted via permeant brown road signs and on event weekend will also include temporary, hi-vis ‘vehicle show’ road signs directing visitor sand exhibitors into the relevant entrance points.

DISCOUNTED ADVANCE BOOKING

Classic Shows offers a heavily discounted admission ticket for car exhibitors who book in advance of the event. At a cost of just £4.50 per vehicle, the car exhibitor ticket allows entry for:

  • one classic car (aged 2003 / pre-2003) or a car in one of the following themes: American / kit / custom / replica car.
  • two adults and two children (aged up to 14).

If you are unsure whether your vehicle qualifies to exhibit, please contact the office.

Exhibitor passes are issued subject to exhibitors arriving at the event by 11.00am. If the exhibiting vehicle contains more than 2 adults and 2 children, any additional visitors will be charged at the standard on-the-day admission price.

To take up this offer exhibitors must confirm their booking no later than 5pm on Friday 3 August 2018. Note that discounted exhibitor admission tickets are not available to purchase on the day of the event.

Please note that the first 200 free or £4.50 tickets are only available when booked in advance and are not available on the day of the event.

MOTORCYCLE SEASON PASS

We offer a free motorcycle season pass. Produce your season ticket at the gate on arrival and gain entry for free (maximum two per bike) when displaying a classic (2003 and pre-2003) motorcycle in the show – a substantial saving on the standard admission price.

Motorcycle exhibitors can retain the motorcycle season pass and use the pass throughout the 2018 season at most Classic Shows events (excludes the Manchester Bike Show at EventCity).

To guarantee receiving your motorcycle season pass in time for this event, orders should arrive to us no later than Friday 3 August 2018.

PITCHES

Trade and autojumble pitches are a very popular feature of Classic Shows events and are available in sizes measuring 6x6m (or multiples thereof). Trade pitches are located outdoors on grass unless otherwise stated.

We have plenty of outdoor pitches but as pitches are allocated on a first-come-first-served basis (with the exception of Premium Trade pitches), it is recommended that traders arrive early to improve the chance of securing an attractive space.

Trade pitches can be booked in advance to secure a discount to the price or can be purchased on-the-day of the event at the on-the-day trade price.

PREMIUM TRADE PITCHES

For the first time in 2018, Classic Shows now offers the opportunity to secure Premium on-site trading pitches ahead of the event.

Premium pitches are the highest profile / largest footfall locations at the event and allow your trade stall to benefit from a much-improved presence. A great way to launch a new product or try and push sales to the next level. Space requirements can be agreed as required and all premium stands must be booked and paid for ahead of the event.
